The Weekend

We took last Friday off to spend the long weekend in Slovakia. It has been almost 2 months since our last visit. We spent most of the time with the family. We drove all the way to Central Slovakia on Saturday morning and back in the evening to attend a family garden party. The rest of the weekend was spent in the garden, plucking berries and apricots, making jam, eating, doing nothing… just relaxing. It’s always good to be away from the hectic city life.

This was taken on Saturday afternoon (in central Slovakia). We climbed up to the top of the hill, walking through bushes and the view from the top is simply amazing. I’ve been to places in western (where M’s from) and central Slovakia in summer and winter. What can I say… it’s the most beautiful country I’ve ever been to.

The garden has became my favourite ‘corner’ in the house, it’s a huge backyard. There are a little vineyard, trees (apples, pears, apricots, plums, peaches), plants (red currants, gooseberries, tomatoes, etc). I wish I could spend weeks there without worrying about work, plucking fruits, sunbathing in the garden…

On the way home yesterday. I was bored.
